For a relaxing, comfortable environment, full of charm and character come to the Royal Oak House.
Originally an Inn built in 1714, the Royal Oak House retains many of its original features and also provides a log fired snug and a private games room with a pool table and dart board for the exclusive use by our guests.
We currently have two guest rooms available for bed and breakfast. One double room (Lydford) and one family (double with single bed) room (Meldon). The Lydford enjoys views over the back garden and Sourton Tor while the Meldon overlooks the historic church and main street through the village of Bridestowe.
The Lydford has its own en-suite bathroom and the Meldon has its own private bathroom facility. Both rooms have a modern LCD TV with digital freeview and wireless Internet access*.
Children under 12 are half price and babies under 2 stay free - cots are available upon request.

There is a local village pub/restaurant within easy walking distance and a number of pub/restaurants in short commuting distances all serving excellent food. We serve a full Devon English Breakfast using only local free range produce and complemented by a wide selection of fruit and cereals.

We are situated on the edge of Dartmoor with National Cycle Networks including Route 27 and the Granite Way passing close by. We can arrange for the hire of bicycles to be delivered and picked up for your convenience and we have a secure brick built store for safe storage.
