Burn Cottage offers bed and breakfast or self-catering accommodation surrounded by the stunning scenery and rugged open moorland of Dartmoor.
Gates open directly onto the moor where ponies roam - and there are uninterrupted views through 360 degrees of open moorland and Dartmoor tors. To the south is Brentor Church - a 12th century building situated on top of a tor, whilst to the north are Widgery Cross, Great Links Tor and the Tavy Cleave.
All rooms are furnished with Laura Ashley designed duvets, curtains & rugs. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided together with bath robes, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries and a hairdryer in each room. Each room also has its own TV and DVD.
Full English breakfast is provided in the large dining area overlooking the moor - with Dartmoor ponies and livestock roaming. St Michael's Church on Brent Tor is the backdrop.Breakfast consists of sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms & tomatoes all locally sourced. There is a choice of grapefruit, melon, cereals, juice and fruits in season - with tea, coffee, freshly made bread, marmalade, jam and butter to complete the meal!

Burn Cottage is situated between the villages of Brentor and Lydford - a stunning location for walking with breathtaking views on each new horizon. Cyclists - Route 27 of the National Cycle Network passes within yards of the house. Lydford Gorge waterfall entrance is a short walk from the house, and was recently voted the National Trust`s most romantic place to visit. Brentor Church on top of the Tor is well worth a visit with its ancient rugged walls, unique atmosphere, and gorgeous views. Tavistock town is 7 miles away - it has a farm animal market and a pannier market and was recently voted the best market town in the country. It is full of interesting small shops and is an ancient town with records going back to 800AD. There are several olde worlde pubs nearby with lovely food and warm welcome.
